This sophisticated European inspired steakhouse started as a dilapidated but historic building in mid-town Laguna Beach.  Our challenge was to balance the needs and desires of the owners against the physical restrictions of the site, while still preserving the historic integrity of the building.  The result is a series of intimate dining spaces that feel modern and in tune with today’s dining tastes.

Curated by Peter Blake with prime examples of contemporary painting and sculpture, the Riviera Room is a cultural experience defined by art and design. Conceived as an “art gallery for living” architect Anders Lasater has created the same refined setting that he achieved at the Peter Blake Gallery itself.

Incorporating lifestyle elements that make living more than just existing, the Riviera Room at la Casa del Camino becomes a cultural “home away from home” reflecting the qualities and tastes a sophisticated traveler has come to expect.

The intimate environment of the Wine Gallery restaurant makes the most of its relatively small space, offering the perfect place to enjoying a rustic wood fired pizza with a glass of fine wine.  From the warm tones of wooden wine barrels to the crisp lines of the Italian marble bar the finishes are at once sophisticated yet relaxed.  The shimmering cleff-faced marble wall and polished concrete floors contrast the exotic wood paneling and a live-edge community table developing an atmosphere as dynamic as the culture of Laguna Beach.

Located on the first floor of the recently rebranded Avenue of the Arts Hotel in Costa mesa, a short walk from the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the Silver Trumpet Bar and Restaurant is the ideal place to enjoy a pre-show dinner or a late night cocktail.

Inspired by the unique flavors and seasonally driven menu, the re-branding included a new backlit glass facade, entry water feature, outdoor dining area, indoor lounge and a glowing white onyx bar top to showcase the signature handmade cocktails.  ”Ask for the ‘strong purple drink’ and you’ll be good to go!”

Located in the heart of Costa Mesa, steps from the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the Avenue of the Arts Hotel is Orange County’s newest 4 star hotel.  Tranquil yet functional, this recently re-branded hotel is perfect for business and vacation alike.  The Silver Trumpet Restaurant and Bar, an upscale restaurant on the first floor, serves as the focal point for the new brand.

A modern, beach inspired interpretation of the hamburger stands and drive-ins of the 1950s, Urbun Burger in Laguna Beach is a study in simplicity and order. A long, white shoebox form is bisected by a vertical wood screen that organizes the two main spaces of the restaurant: service at the front and dining at the back.

The front counter and walk up window allow for quick and easy service, perfect for hungry beach goers.  The large skylight and fireplace in the indoor / outdoor dining room at the rear create a relaxed, comfortable setting perfect for enjoying a craft beer or nice wine as the sun sets.
